The first North Midlands competition was held at The Plough where 10 juniors competed for the Jim Cossey Cup. On a very good surface that proved a real test for the juniors, Griff youngster Natty Tonks came out victorious beating Haunchwood’s Tyler Dewis 21-16 in the final.

The final commenced as a nip and tuck affair with Tyler just edging it to lead 11-7 but then Natty upped his game to get the decisive break of 10 to give him a 17-11 advantage As Natty was nearing the finishing line it was then Tyler’s turn to come back with two twos to make it 17-15, Natty played some top bowls to win the next two ends with a single and a double and the scoreline read 20-15. Tyler wins the next end with a cracking shot but Natty finishes the game on the next end to pick up the winners envelope and trophy.
